Job Description:
Join us as a Blood Bank Technician at our Birmingham facility for a 13-week contract. This role is perfect for experienced laboratory professionals who thrive in fast-paced environments and enjoy the precision of blood banking. You'll work 10-hour evening shifts (10am-8:30pm) on a 7-on/7-off schedule, with weekend days extending to 12 hours. The setting offers the opportunity to utilize and refine your skills with EPIC and SoftBank LIS, and bring your expertise with Quidel Ortho Vision, Gel, and Tube Methods into play. No patient contact involved, just your technical prowess in a busy clinical laboratory. This unique assignment allows for a clear focus on lab operations while experiencing the vibrant culture of Birmingham's medical community.

The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of blood bank experience, with proficiency in EPIC and SoftBank LIS, and familiarity with Quidel Ortho Vision, Gel, and Tube Methods. Certifications such as ACSP/AMT/ASCPi or equivalent, along with BLS, are required. The role emphasizes multitasking, quick learning, adaptability, and emergency handling skills, providing an engaging yet focused technical environment for the right professional.
