Job Description:

Join a specialized pediatric inpatient unit in Chicago that focuses on children with chronic illnesses and complex technology dependence, such as tracheostomies and ventilators. This contract role offers a unique opportunity to work in a 39-bed unit serving patients from 2 weeks to 18 years old, where you'll be part of a dedicated team caring for a diverse pediatric population. The daily schedule involves 12-hour shifts, with a mix of 3x12 or 4x12 patterns, ensuring an engaging experience for those ready to make a difference in a high-acuity setting. Expect to work with ventilators, trachs, G-tubes, and children with multiple technology needs, making this an ideal role for experienced pediatric nurses who thrive on complex cases. Job Specifics:

Location: Chicago, IL
Shift: 12-hour days (07:00 - 19:30)
Duration: 13 weeks, with guaranteed hours of 36 per week based on your shift pattern
This role is ideal for pediatric RNs with at least 2 years of experience, especially those comfortable with ventilators, trachs, G-tubes, MediTech charting, and technology-dependent children. Prior pediatric or acute care experience is essential, and IL RN licensure must be active at time of submission. The unit accepts first-timers prepared to meet the challenges of pediatric technology dependence, offering a rewarding chance to be part of a specialized team dedicated to complex pediatric care.
