Job Description:

This step down Registered Nurse contract places you on the 4 East unit at UVAs Hospital in Charlottesville. You will focus on clinical review and care for patients recovering from complex thoracic, cardiac, and vascular surgeries, such as CABG, valve repairs, lung resections, and transplants. The role involves managing a mix of acute care and intermediate care (TIMU) patients, many of whom require advanced monitoring like art lines and cardiac drips. You'll work 12-hour day shifts during a 13-week assignment, with a flexible schedule that may include alternating weekends and holidays. BLS certification is required, and ACLS is preferred. This position offers the chance to gain specialized experience in a high-acuity setting and work with a diverse patient population, while supporting UVA’s float policy and maintaining a balanced workload.
