Job Description:

Join our pediatric inpatient unit as a Pediatric Stepdown Registered Nurse, where you'll be caring for children aged 2 weeks to 18 years with various chronic conditions and technological dependencies. This unique unit features 39 beds across all specialties, with many patients reliant on ventilators, tracheostomies, and G-tubes, providing a specialized environment that challenges and rewards dedicated pediatric nurses. You'll work 12-hour day shifts, either on a 3x12 or 4x12 schedule, and handle patient loads in a setting that emphasizes advanced techniques like vent management and G-tube care. The role requires prior experience in ventilator, trach, and G-tube management, as well as proficiency with Meditech charting. IL RN licensure in hand is mandatory, along with PALS and BCLS certifications. Expect to coordinate with a team committed to delivering exceptional pediatric acute care in a magnet-level, teaching hospital setting. This assignment offers a chance to hone specialized skills and make a tangible difference in the lives of pediatric patients with complex needs.
