Job Description:
This 13-week contract offers a unique opportunity for Stepdown Cardiac Registered Nurses to bring their expertise to a specialized care environment. Working 12-hour night shifts, you'll be providing vital support to patients experiencing heart failure, chest pain assessments, NSTEMI, post-procedure recovery, COPD exacerbations, or dealing with drug/ETOH overdose and withdrawal symptoms. The role involves managing IV drips such as heparin, nitroglycerin, and amiodarone, ensuring precise monitoring and intervention. The assignment offers the chance to work with EPIC systems, interpret EKG strips, and float across various units, including the main campus, South campus, and North campus, offering diverse clinical experiences in different settings. Job Specifics:
Location: Dayton, Ohio
Shift: 12-hour nights, 19:00 - 07:30
Duration: 13 weeks
Holidays: Must be available every other holiday and weekend shifts are required. The expectation involves floating across multiple units including the main campus, South campus, and North campus, with some assignments to the Emergency Department. The role requires experience with EPIC, interpreting EKGs, and managing IV drips for cardiac and critical care patients. Competency assessments and certifications such as BLS, NIH, and ACLS are mandatory. The ideal candidate will have at least 1.5 years of relevant experience, including some Level 1 or 2 trauma experience, and proficiency in IV starts, telemetry, and interpreting cardiac strips. Uniforms consist of navy blue scrubs, and the night shift overall involves caring for a daily average census of 31 patients.
