Job Description:

This pediatric stepdown RN position offers a unique opportunity to work within a single inpatient unit that serves children from 2 weeks to 18 years old. The unit, with 39 beds, manages a diverse array of cases, with 50-60% of patients requiring technology dependence such as tracheostomies, G-tubes, and ventilator support. As a night shift traveler on 12-hour nights, you'll be immersed in a setting that emphasizes chronic illness management rather than surgical or acute care. Your responsibilities will include monitoring patients with tracheostomies, G-tubes, and ventilators, managing complex medical needs, and working alongside a cohesive team to provide specialized pediatric care. This role is perfect for a dedicated pediatric RN with at least two years of experience in a similar setting, comfortable with Meditech charting, vent management, and patient care within a 1:4 ratio environment. Your expertise will make a real difference in the lives of these children and their families, all while experiencing the vibrant culture of Chicago.
