Job Description:

Step into a rewarding travel contract as a Registered Nurse (RN) for a mixed PCU/Oncology and Med-Surg unit in Omaha, Nebraska. This role focuses on caring for adult oncology and trauma patients across a unit that commonly manages chemotherapy infusions and select time-sensitive medications such as heparin, cardizem, and protonix. You’ll work within a structured 12-hour night shift schedule, where the unit runs primarily at a 1:4 PCU ratio and 1:5 Med-Surg ratio (mixed assignments possible). Orientation includes 2 days, followed by an open-book pass/fail exam during orientation—candidates must score at least 90% to pass.

A Chemo certification is required. Oncology PCU experience is preferred, and comfort with ventilators and hemodynamic monitoring may be needed (all can be trained in real time). You’ll also support hourly rounding expectations and team-based workflows with available support staff (PT/OT, RN case manager, social work, educator, and dietician). Nursing care may include titrating select drips/medications as needed (examples include insulin occasionally and cardizem). This contract also includes every-other-weekend requirements with self-scheduling.

Expect a mix of cool to mild temperatures with occasional breezes and changing skies. Conditions can be dry at times, with periods where clouds move in and out quickly.
