Job Description:

Join a high-acuity Emergency Department team as an ER Registered Nurse on a travel contract in Columbia, Missouri. This Level 1 trauma, stroke, and STEMI emergency setting keeps you on your toes—in the best way—supporting rapid response workflows and handling a wide variety of urgent cases, including a pediatric ED located within the UH ED. You’ll also float between the ED and ED Observation (50% holidays and every other weekend), giving you varied exposure to the fast-moving pace across adjacent areas.

This role is 12-hour day shifts (3x12) with rotating schedule needs that include holidays and inclement weather coverage. A psych center is associated with the department, but you will not float to that area. ACLS and PALS are required, CPI is preferred, and you’ll need at least 2 years of experience—first-time travelers may be considered with Level I trauma experience. The position is physically active, involving frequent ambulation and moving objects weighing up to and over 20 lbs, and routine contact with patients who may have contagious illnesses.

Weather:

Expect a mix of mild and changeable conditions, with opportunities for both comfortable daytime temperatures and cooler, damp spells. Humidity can rise, and occasional windy or stormy weather is possible.

Fun Things To Do:

  • Hike the trails at Rock Bridge Memorial State Park
  • Explore the Columbia Farmers Market
  • Visit COMO’s nature exhibits at the Tiger & Tower
  • Day trip to the Mark Twain Boyhood Home & Museum
  • Day trip to Rockwood State Park for scenic views and riverside time

Job Specifics:

Shift: 12 hour days (3x12) — 06:45 to 19:15
