Job Description:

Step into a travel RN contract with a clear focus: ICU care in Kearney, Nebraska, supporting adult patients across trauma, cardiac, overdose/substance abuse, sepsis, post-stent, pacemaker placement, stroke, vascular cases, renal failure, heart failure, and respiratory distress. This assignment runs on a 12-hour day schedule (0630–1830), with monitors and tele in place—meaning you’ll read, interpret, and document rhythm strips as part of your daily workflow.

You’ll titrate drips, including any cardiac drip, insulin, and sedation. The unit operates with nurse-to-patient assignments typically around 1:2–3 for adults, and you’ll have support from nurse aides (based on census) plus Healthcare Support Tech coverage three days per week (0800–1630, M–F). You’ll also be part of a team that manages common ICU RT equipment needs (including vents/high-flow/BiPAP/CPAP), with the RN role including nasal cannula to vent as directed. Weekend rotation is required every other weekend.

Here’s what makes the travel experience unique: pace and acuity with direct involvement in cardiac monitoring and medication titration, plus a structured orientation consisting of one unit-specific orientation shift and an exam process (Pass/Fail on Wednesdays during orientation; an open-book skills exam with a required 90% to pass).
