Job Description:

Join a travel contract as a Registered Nurse for the ED in Sitka, Alaska, where you’ll coordinate and perform a wide range of fast-paced nursing procedures for patients of all ages—working from provider orders, nursing standards, and established hospital policies. This role emphasizes independent clinical decision-making during your scheduled shift, calm judgment in emergent situations, and clear accountability for your actions.

In addition to assessment, planning, implementation, and documentation, you’ll lead and delegate to CNA/Tech staff, support unit operations during your shift, and communicate shift handoff information according to guidelines. You’ll also educate patients and families as appropriate, participate in required certifications and ongoing training, and contribute to unit goals through staff meetings and competency maintenance.

Unique to this assignment: you’ll help drive safe, therapeutic, and efficient care using infection control measures, prioritize based on acuity, and be expected to step in as needed when situations require additional input or resources—while maintaining supportive communication with the healthcare team and those you serve. Flu vaccination is required, and an Alaska RN license is required at time of submission.
