Job Description:

Step into a fast-paced Intensive Care Unit travel role in Concord, North Carolina, built around complex critical care workflows and advanced monitoring. You’ll care for ventilated patients, stroke and thrombectomy cases, and patients requiring therapies such as opti-flow, BiPAP, and endotool, along with managing care needs that may include overdose, GI bleeds, some trauma, CRRT, and endotrach/ventilator-dependent support. This assignment is especially unique for the mix of high-acuity diagnoses and the specialized equipment and technology used on the unit.

As an ICU RN, you’ll use EPIC and Alaris IV pumps while working with Omnicell medication dispensing, Phillips monitors, and unit-specific tools such as Arctic Sun, Hemosphere, Belmont rapid transfuser, and LifeFlow. Expect a schedule built around 12-hour days with an every-other weekend rotation and no call. Orientation includes 2 days departmental and NEO, and the unit runs with strong teamwork—supported by RT 24/7, 24/7 intensivist and hospitalist coverage, and charge nurses available around the clock.

Required qualifications include BLS and ACLS, plus NIHSS. You should have at least 2 years of ICU experience and be comfortable with critical care gtts, vasopressors, sedation, management of invasive lines (ART/CVP), cardiac rhythm interpretation, ventilator management, chest tubes, blood products, and wound care/dressing changes.

Expect mild, comfortable days with occasional warm spells and cooler evenings. You may also see some humidity and the possibility of a passing shower.

Weekly commitment: 36.0 hours

Schedule notes: every other weekend rotation; no call required; holiday coverage works 75% of holidays.
