Job Description:

Join a travel nursing opportunity in the Lithotripsy department’s PACU area at a Phoenix, Arizona facility. In this role, you’ll support recovery workflows for procedures involving laser lithotripsy and related endoscopic uro/gyn cases, including prostate and bladder resections. Your day-to-day will focus on post-procedure monitoring and discharge readiness tasks in a PACU setting, with responsibilities that also include moderate sedation and general anesthesia recovery experience.

What makes this assignment unique is the emphasis on hands-on competency and sterile technique. You’ll be required to complete SIMs Lab for Foley catheter insertion and central line dressing changes. SIMs Lab is pass/fail, and maintain strict sterile field practices—those who understand sterile technique are most likely to pass. You’ll also complete education for lifts, restraints, and wound care, with an understanding that equipment and policies may vary by facility.

Caseload varies from 3–15 cases per day, and there are no CSTs on staff. Weekends are not part of the schedule, with no call and no holidays. This is a traveling role with the expectation that you are already competent in sterile-field critical nursing skills.

Expect plenty of sunshine with warm days and cooler evenings. Conditions are typically dry, with low humidity and clear or mostly clear skies throughout the day.

Shift: 12 hour days; start time 0700; four (10) hour shifts Monday–Thursday (occasional Friday availability for extra shifts)
