Job Description:

This neuro ICU contract positions you in a specialized 8-bed neuro unit within Aspirus Wausau. You'll be providing critical care to patients with stroke, TBI, head injuries, and neurosurgical cases. Your responsibilities include performing neuro assessments, basic bedside ICU procedures like line placements and intubations, and managing neuro-specific interventions such as EVD and ICP monitoring. The shift is 12 hours overnight, from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM, with a guaranteed 36 hours per week over 13 weeks. Float requirements involve moving between Neuro Critical Care ICU and MSICU units, and occasional work in other inpatient units may be needed. The assignment offers the chance to work with a team that values resilience and independence, with minimal on-call duties and flexible low-census hours. A strong neuro assessment background, proficiency with EPIC charting, and valid Wisconsin RN licensure along with BLS, ACLS, NIHSS are required. This role is ideal for experienced neuro ICU nurses looking to deepen their critical care expertise in a supportive environment.
