Job Description:

This Pediatric Critical Care Float Pool Registered Nurse role offers a unique chance to cover a variety of pediatric units, including PICU, NICU, peds medsurg, peds PACU, peds ED boarders, and postpartum/mother-baby. You will float across different settings, applying your PICU and NICU expertise to support the care team during 12-hour day shifts. The position involves clinical tasks tailored to each unit, with the flexibility of block scheduling and the opportunity to work longer assignments through early 2027. Be prepared for a schedule that includes every other weekend and two out of three winter holidays, with no RTO during the first two weeks. Responsibilities also include adhering to UVA’s float policy and maintaining certifications such as BLS, NRP, ACLS, and PALS. Previous NICU/PICU float pool experience and Epic proficiency are highly preferred, and a valid VA license is required for submission.
