Job Description:

This travel assignment positions you as a Psychiatric RN in a bustling adolescent mental health unit located in the Bronx. You'll be working 12-hour day shifts over a 16-week period, providing crucial support in managing patients with severe mental illnesses such as schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, and trauma-related issues. The role involves de-escalation, restraint use, medication administration (IM and PO), and assisting with patient transport and documentation. You’ll work both adult and adolescent sections, with a focus on early intervention and maintaining a calm environment. This is a fast-paced, challenging setting that demands patience, attentiveness, and a strong sense of compassion. Be prepared to float across related units as needed and engage in a thorough orientation to understand the unit’s specific protocols and routines.
