Job Description:

This registered nurse role on the surgical floor offers a hands-on experience working with post-surgical and oncology patients. You'll be managing a variety of recovery tasks such as epidural care, chest tubes, wound vacs, and PICC lines, often caring for 1-2 patients within your ratio. The unit supports both medical and surgical cases, with a focus on orthopedic, neurological, urological, gynecological, and ENT surgeries. While oncology patients are seen on this floor, giving chemo is not required unless specified. Expect to work 12-hour days in a fast-paced environment that demands flexibility, teamwork, and dedication in delivering post-op recovery and general care. The setting includes high-tech monitoring, tele tech support, and electronic charting, making this a comprehensive surgical nursing experience that blends technical proficiency with empathetic patient interaction.
