Job Description:

Join a fast-paced inpatient surgical unit on the third floor of a well-equipped medical center in Quincy, Illinois. This night shift role involves caring for a diverse patient population undergoing procedures such as neuro laminectomies, cervical fusions, belly surgeries, joint replacements, and dialysis. You'll be working with a team that includes virtual admission and discharge nurses, nurse aides, and telemetry techs, providing comprehensive primary care nursing using a familiar model. Expect to manage patients with complex needs like TPN, lipids, PICC lines, epidurals, chronic pain, and sepsis, with experience in total joint procedures and understanding of PCA pumps, narcan reversals, and narcotic protocols essential. This assignment offers a chance to hone your surgical nursing skills in a supportive environment, with opportunities to interpret telemetry strips and titrate drips per protocol.
