Job Description:

Join a specialized medical/surgical trauma unit as an RN on a contract that offers the flexibility of 36 or 48-hour shifts and 13-week assignments. This fast-paced unit cares for trauma patients admitted from emergency, ICU transfers, or surgical services, with a focus on managing acute and chronic needs in hemodynamically stable patients. Travelers will experience a challenging environment with patient ratios of 1:5 during days and 1:6 at night, occasionally reaching 1:7. Expect to float within scope to support various units, including Neuro, Med/Surg, and Trauma, with frequent exposure to drips, EPIC charting, and teamwork involving care techs and transport staff. This role requires a minimum of two years of experience at a large urban hospital and BLS certification. First-timers are considered only with substantial experience at a Level I Academic Medical Center. Be prepared for a schedule that includes working two major holidays and rotating weekends, with mandatory scrubs and parking options available. Experience a hospital environment that combines groundbreaking research with complex patient cases in Omaha. Prepare to wear Steele gray Nebraska Medicine scrubs and work night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM in a facility ranked No. 1 in the state.
