Job Description:

Join a fast-paced cardiovascular unit delivering intermediate care and supporting downgraded CVICU patients. This travel contract is centered on cardiac and vascular needs, with strong unit involvement in thoracic programs, EP, cath lab, and structural heart services. Your days will focus on monitoring, assessment, and medication management for patients with diagnoses including cardiac and vascular conditions such as CHF, A-fib with RVR, and stroke/CVA presentations, along with other cardiac-related needs.

You’ll work with common titratable infusions including amiodarone (Amio), nitro, nicardipine, epinephrine (epi), and diltiazem (Cardizem), supporting blood pressure management as ordered. The shift structure includes 12-hour day coverage, with staffing and leadership support from a charge nurse on each shift (assignment is rare). Providers including a hospitalist and/or intensivist are available in-house with cardiology support after hours, and RT equipment support is present for therapies including BiPAP and CPAP through nasal cannula.

Required qualifications include 1 year of experience with this patient population and certifications in BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS. Orientation includes tailored onboarding (1–2 shifts based on experience) with a pass/fail exam during orientation Friday and an open-book skills review—passing requires a 90% score. Driver’s license is required at submission and will be used to confirm the 50-mile radius rule.
