Job Description:

Step into a travel Respiratory Therapist role supporting both NICU and adult critical care at a Level 3 NICU setting in Montgomery, Alabama. This assignment is built around 12-hour nights, where you’ll help manage a 36-bed unit with typical volumes around 18–20 patients, and you may be the only NICU RRT on nights—making independence and confident decision-making part of what you’ll experience day to day.

You’ll work with a patient mix that includes NICU responsibilities (with opportunities for ground transports, nitric oxide administration, and transport experience) and adult general/critical care. Technology is fully set up with Cerner (EMR), Omnicell (medication dispensing), Spacelabs monitors, and ventilators such as PB 840, PB 980, Drager VN500, LTV, Airvo, plus oscillator support (3100A).

Certifications required include BLS and NRP for NICU; ACLS/APLS is preferred. Preference for the NICU role is RRT, with consideration for CRT with at least 2 years of experience. Travelers new to the facility (or returning after 1+ years) complete 24 hours of classroom orientation plus 24 hours on the unit.

Expect warm, humid days with occasional thunderstorms. Evenings are generally comfortable, and you can plan for plenty of outdoor time with light layers for indoor spaces.
