Job Description:

Join a fast-paced Cardiac Tele unit in Salisbury, North Carolina as a Registered Nurse on a travel contract. In this role, you’ll support a primary cardiac and stroke care setting with a strong rhythm of pre- and post-procedure work, including pacemaker implantation, implanted cardioverter/defibrillators, and cardiac catheterization activities (including TR bands). You’ll also manage stable post-interventional peripheral vascular and cardiac procedures without sheaths, and care for patients presenting with conditions such as unstable angina, low-risk chest pain evaluations, CHF, dysrhythmias, and new CVA/TIA.

Your night shift covers multiple care workflows, including titrating cardiac drips such as Cardiazem, Dopamine, and Amiodarone. Telemetry and pulse-ox monitoring are central to the assignment, and the unit can include COVID-positive patients using opti-flow and acute BiPAP during surge periods (with specified equipment and stability limitations). With a typical weekly turnover of 78 to 90 patients, you’ll experience frequent assignment refreshes—often turning over a full 6-patient assignment and starting over—supported by a team lead for admissions and discharges.

The schedule is 12-hour nights (18:45 - 07:15) with weekend coverage required (Friday, Saturday, and Sunday). Call is required, with frequency depending on census. The unit targets 1:5–6 nurse-to-patient ratios, and travelers must be comfortable with higher surge assignments up to 6 patients.
