Job Description:

This RN contract position at a 225-bed specialty care hospital in Marquette offers a rewarding opportunity to work primarily in the Observation Unit. You'll be responsible for monitoring adult patients with observation status, including those with chest pain, asthma exacerbations, TIAs, abdominal pain, urinary issues, and other minor traumas. Shifts are 12 hours overnight (nights) across a 13-week period, with a guaranteed weekly schedule of 36 hours. The role involves working in a fast-paced setting with cardiac monitors and Cerner EHR, floating to Medical, Cardiac, and Neuro-Ortho units as needed. Candidates should bring at least 1 year of med/surg experience, preferably with telemetry skills, and hold current BLS, ACLS, NIH Stroke Scale, and Tele/ECG certifications. The facility takes pride in its collaborative environment supported by the ED Director, and you must be comfortable working weekends and holidays to meet patient needs. This assignment provides a chance to experience life in Michigan's Upper Peninsula while advancing your clinical skills in a specialized setting.
