Job Description:

Join a busy Cardio Thoracic unit as a registered nurse for a 26-week contract, working 12-hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM. In this role, you will be responsible for managing patients recovering from lung surgeries, including chest tubes and esophagectomies, handling cardiac conditions such as MI, CHF, A fib, and pacemaker placements. You will interpret EKGs, titrate medications like Cardizem and heparin, troubleshoot ventilator issues, and collaborate with a dedicated team of charge nurses, house supervisors, and PCTs. This assignment offers a lively schedule, with rotations including every other weekend and holiday work. Expect to float to other general medical units as needed, and demonstrate proficiency in basic nursing skills and interpreting Phillips telemetry monitors. The environment encourages autonomy, with minimal patient assignments for charge nurses, ensuring you focus on quality patient care and your professional skills.
