Job Description:

This PICU Registered Nurse role offers a unique chance to work across various pediatric units including PICU, NICU, peds medsurg, peds PACU, peds ED boarders, and postpartum/mother-baby floors. You will be floating within UVA’s pediatric float pool, bringing your PICU and NICU expertise to different environments on a rotating basis. The shift consists of 12-hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM, covering 48 hours per week over 13 weeks. Prepare for a schedule that emphasizes flexibility and hands-on work with vulnerable pediatric populations, with every other weekend and holiday off. This role is perfect for nurses with a solid background in PICU and NICU, who are comfortable adapting to various pediatric settings and following UVA’s float policies. Prior experience in peds PACU and certifications such as BLS, NRP, ACLS, and PALS are required, with Peds PACU experience being highly preferred.
