Job Description:

Join our team as an ICU RN in Rapid City, South Dakota, for an approximately 20-week travel contract. This role is centered in a mixed ICU unit with 39 beds, divided into MICU, SICU, CICU, and TICU pods. You’ll be working 12-hour night shifts, providing specialized care for complex ICU patients including surgical, medical, trauma, and cardiac cases. Prior ICU experience of at least two years is required, with a preference for those familiar with ventilator management, hemodynamic lines, proning, and critical care interventions. You will be integral to managing a diverse patient population with diagnoses such as ARDS, MI, stroke, trauma, and post-surgical recovery. Expect to work with a supportive team of physicians, nurse aides, and resource staff in a fast-paced treatment environment. Epic charting experience and certifications like BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, and TNCC are mandatory. The assignment offers opportunities for precepting students and requiring a strong critical thinking mindset. Expect a comprehensive orientation including hospital and unit-specific training, with some float options to adult floors if comfort allows.
