Job Description:

This OR nursing assignment in Alexandria, VA offers a hands-on experience in a fast-paced surgical environment, working primarily on general, orthopedic, urology, plastics, ENT, and colorectal cases. The role involves scrubbing for approximately 15-25 cases daily within seven operating rooms, utilizing advanced equipment such as DaVinci Xi. You will be responsible for maintaining sterile procedures, supporting surgeons during procedures, and adhering to strict safety and protocol standards. The position demands BLS certification for both RN and tech staff, along with CST credentials and VA state licensure. Expect to participate in scheduled call shifts—2-3 weekends per six-week cycle—with a 45-minute response time, and a comprehensive five-day hospital orientation to familiarize you with the unit and hospital policies. This role provides the opportunity to refine your surgical skills while supporting a well-established hospital facility.
