Job Description:

Step into a night-shift role at a vibrant 25-bed medical unit located in Carbondale, Illinois. This assignment offers a chance to work with a diverse patient population, primarily focusing on stroke patients not requiring TPA or hospice care, along with various post-operative cases such as amputations, drains, chest tubes, and feeding tubes. You'll be providing essential care to patients with conditions ranging from altered mental status to COPD exacerbations, often managing heparin drips, wound care, and other complex needs. This role is ideal for RNs who hold a stroke certification, are comfortable with three 12-hour night shifts, and are familiar with NHISS scoring. The environment is fast-paced but rewarding, with occasional total care patients, offering a unique opportunity to hone specialized skills in a community-focused setting.
