Job Description:

Join a Med-Surg General Medical team in Medford, Oregon as a Registered Nurse on 12-hour nights for a 13-week travel contract. You’ll be working in a 36-private-bed setting, supporting a mix of general medical needs including GI issues, pneumonia, cellulitis, renal concerns, CHF, diabetes management, ETOH withdrawal, electrolyte imbalances, and infectious presentations such as flu, COVID, meningitis, shingles, and C. Diff—along with medical complaints for patients who may also have psych needs.

This assignment is built around teamwork, bedside report, and hourly rounding. You’ll follow care bundles, accept feedback graciously, and collaborate with a charge nurse available 24/7 (typically not taking an assignment) along with break/resource support and critical care outreach coverage. Remote tele monitoring is provided by a separate tele tech unit, and you should have a basic understanding of strip interpretation and lethal rhythms. BLS certification is required, and the role may occasionally involve titratable drips such as heparin and Cardizem, as well as set-rate drips like amiodarone (vasopressors not used).

A focused start includes 12 non-billable orientation hours during the first work week, with guaranteed hours not applying during orientation. Licensure flexibility is available: non-Oregon licensed RNs may apply and be eligible for a 90-day temporary license if their permanent license is not posted before the assignment begins. Local candidates are not accepted due to a 50-mile radius restriction.

Expect mild, comfortable conditions with a good mix of dry days and occasional showers. Nights can feel cooler, especially when the breeze picks up.
