Job Description:

Step into a travel contract at a Level III trauma center in Farmington, New Mexico, supporting a Surgical Inpatient Unit on the 3rd floor. In this RN/Charge Nurse role, you’ll help manage day-to-day flow on a unit that commonly receives trauma cases (including Levels 1 and 2 flown in when needed), along with post-operative surgical patients across specialties such as ortho/neuro surgery and abdominal procedures. Expect a steady rhythm of admissions and discharges throughout your 12-hour day shifts, with opportunities to apply experience in a broad mix of inpatient needs—NG tubes, chest tubes, Foley catheter/turps, respiratory concerns, diabetic care, sepsis, alcohol withdrawal, rib fractures, altered mental status, and pain management. This assignment offers the chance to work in an established team environment while following the same policies and guidelines as staff members, using Cerner for documentation. Weekend scheduling is included, and there’s no call requirement.

Expect generally mild days with cooler evenings, with dry conditions and plenty of sunshine. Plan for occasional breezes and temperature swings typical of the high desert.
