Job Description:
Join the Vascular Access Team as a Travel Healthcare Professional in Burlington, Vermont, delivering advanced IV and vascular access support across a fast-paced, trauma-focused setting. This assignment runs 13 weeks (with a stated range of 13–16 weeks) and follows a 12-hour rotating shift pattern (days with flexibility for nights as needed). Expect every other weekend participation, with scheduling that may include one week of nights followed by one week of days, or occasional mid-week rotation changes. You’ll typically receive time off between rotations when scheduling allows (approximately 48 hours), while remaining ready to help fill critical vacancies.
In this role, you’ll use ultrasound guidance for IV placement, strengthen strong peripheral IV skills, and support vascular access tasks such as assessing existing PICC lines, completing dressing changes for PICCs, and administering TPA as needed. PICC line placement is not required, but being PICC-certified is a plus; you should be prepared to collaborate with bedside PICC RN workflows where applicable. You’ll also float as needed for peripheral IV placement, troubleshooting PIV/PICC lines, port access support and flushes, and drawing bloods as backup.
This position requires Epic experience from within the past 2 years, BLS, and at least 2 years of specialty experience. Prior travel experience is preferred, and relevant trauma-level 1 experience within the last year is required. AVA certification and strong IV ultrasound guidance experience are essential.
Weather:
Expect cool, crisp conditions with a mix of cloud cover and clear days. You may experience rain and the occasional early snow, so layering and all-season preparation are helpful.
Fun Things To Do:
- Church Street Marketplace stroll and people-watching in downtown Burlington
- Lake Champlain waterfront walk and scenic views
- Ben & Jerry’s tour in Waterbury (day trip)
- Smuggler’s Notch scenic drive to see mountain views (day trip)
- Shelburne Museum for a full afternoon of exhibits
