Job Description:

Join a fast-paced Med/Tele unit in Concord, North Carolina as a travel healthcare professional supporting nights in a Level 3 Trauma setting. This assignment is ideal for a registered nurse who enjoys consistent rhythm-focused monitoring and hands-on bedside workflow—charting in EPIC, interpreting cardiac rhythms, managing non-titrating cardiac drips (including Cardizem and Amiodarone), and handling care for patients with tubes/drains, IV starts, blood products, and wound dressing changes. You’ll encounter a mix of chronic and specialty diagnoses such as CHF, COPD, diabetes, wounds, geriatric care, and cases involving addiction services and mental health. Occasional stroke-focused work is part of the role, with NIHSS readiness required.

You’ll work 12-hour nights with a weekend rotation every other weekend and no call. The unit averages about 51 patients per day, with nurse staffing typically running 1:4–6 (acuity dependent; surge times may reach 1:7–8). Orientation includes a 2-day departmental NEO process, and support is available from a Nurse Manager, Clinical/Administrative Supervisors, Rapid Response RN, House Supervisor, and a Clinical Mentor.

Expect mild-to-warm days with comfortable evenings, with occasional humidity and a mix of sunshine and passing clouds. Rain showers can pop up sporadically, so having a light plan for weather swings is helpful.

Shift: 12 hour nights (0700–1900 and 1900–0700)

Weekly commitment: 36.0 hours

Weekend rotation: Every other weekend; no call required; holiday coverage for 75% of holidays

Experience/requirements: Minimum 18 months of Med/Tele RN experience; BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS required
