Job Description:

Work a 12-hour nights travel nursing assignment on a busy Med/Surg unit in Oklahoma City, where you’ll provide bedside nursing care for a variety of post-surgical and stepdown-level patients. In this role, you’ll assume responsibility for an assigned group of patients, monitor physiological data, administer medications as prescribed, and document patient responses to nursing interventions and treatments. You’ll also assist with minor diagnostic procedures and support providers during patient examinations.

This assignment is a great fit for nurses with acute care surgical floor experience, including familiarity with post-operative patients and the nursing workflow that comes with frequent monitoring and timely charting. You should be prepared to care for patients with new drains and wound care needs, as well as trachs, ostomies, and nasogastric or dobhoff tubes—some patients will require stepdown-level attention. ENT and/or transplant experience is a plus, and you’ll be part of a team that coordinates care through referrals, delegation to support staff, and clear communication with patients and families around the care plan and discharge processes.

Weather:

Expect mild days with cool evenings and plenty of blue-sky time. Humidity can vary, and occasional breezy weather is common, with the possibility of brief rain showers.
