Job Description:

This 13-week contract places you in the heart of Asheville, NC, working on a specialized cardiac and vascular stepdown unit. You will be responsible for caring for a diverse patient population, including post-surgical cardiac patients undergoing procedures like CABG, AVR, TAVR, and thoracic surgeries, as well as overflow medical cardiology cases. The role involves monitoring patient status, managing epidural and chest tube systems, administering cardiac medications, and assisting with IV therapy—all within a busy, fast-paced environment. Expect to handle a 1:5 patient ratio during day shifts, with an emphasis on teamwork and flexibility. This assignment offers a unique opportunity to refine your skills in a highly specialized setting that emphasizes precision and collaboration without the need for patient care beyond standard nursing activities.
