Job Description:

Join a travel RN swing bed team in Kirksville, Missouri, supporting up to 10 inpatient rehab (swing) patients on 12-hour nights. This assignment centers on skilled, hands-on RN work across swing and, when census requires, med-surg assignments—so you’ll stay engaged with consistent clinical responsibilities while following the unit’s workflow. If swing volume dips, you may absorb med-surg patients without any change in your nursing skill set.

Shifts run from 6:00 PM to 6:30 AM, with weekends required. Call is limited to volume support only—there is no standing call—so you’ll be scheduled in a way that aligns with contract call-off expectations. Floating is mainly for med/surg assignments, and tasking may occur on other units only within your existing competencies.

Looking for an RN with 1+ year of experience, BLS certification, and rehab and/or med-surg experience to match the swing bed focus of this role. Standard tools include MedHost. Swing bed work is streamlined and less nurse-intensive than traditional med-surg, but the core nursing skill requirements remain the same.

Weather:

Expect cool to mild conditions with a mix of cloudy skies and occasional rainfall. Evenings can feel brisk, so layering helps as temperatures fluctuate.
