Job Description:

This travel contract offers an engaging opportunity for a Registered Nurse specialized in Progressive Care Unit (PCU) settings. You'll be working in a 24-bed unit, primarily focusing on complex cardiac and medical patient care. The role involves managing patients with diagnoses such as post-cardiac surgery, respiratory failure, stroke, sepsis, and other critical conditions. Your workflow will include titrating cardiac, insulin, and vasopressor drips, managing chest tubes, central lines, and wound care, as well as handling venous sheaths and temporary pacemakers. With a mix of patient types and procedures, you'll experience a well-rounded and challenging environment. Expect to work 12-hour night shifts, settling into a scheduled rotation every other weekend, with the chance to work on other units or undergo orientation to your assigned area. The role emphasizes independence with support from in-house staff and resources, providing an excellent setting to refine your critical care skills within a structured 13-week assignment.
