Job Description:

This inpatient rehab RN role at UW Health Rehabilitation Hospital offers a unique opportunity to work in a 50-bed acute inpatient rehabilitation setting in Madison, Wisconsin. You'll be responsible for caring for adult patients with high acuity needs, including those recovering from strokes, brain and spinal cord injuries, amputations, and complex orthopedic injuries. The shift is a 12-hour day schedule from 6:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., with rotations every other weekend and holiday work. The environment is fast-paced, with responsibilities akin to a medical-surgical unit, requiring quick thinking and teamwork. Experience in Med-Surg or inpatient rehab is essential, along with a minimum of one year of nursing experience in a skilled care setting. Daily tasks include assisting patients with mobility, using specialized equipment like ceiling lifts and slide boards, monitoring vital signs, and responding promptly to call lights. This role provides an engaging, high-energy atmosphere where nurses contribute directly to patients' recovery journeys, often jumping into various duties to ensure seamless care delivery.
