Job Description:

Join a medical-surgical team as a Registered Nurse for a Neuro-focused unit in Wilmington, NC. This travel contract is built around night shifts with a 3x12-hour schedule (18:45–07:15), supporting your focus during overnight coverage while you work within a unit that emphasizes neuro-related diagnoses and safety-centered practice. You’ll chart and coordinate using EPIC, manage medications through Pyxis, and communicate using SBAR—so your shifts run smoothly from handoff to documentation.

The assignment also includes unit flexibility: travelers must float as required, and the weekend schedule is typically 5–6 weekend shifts (about every other weekend). As part of unit readiness, contract staff may be assigned to a Storm Team and/or Hurricane Team, with the possibility of reporting during catastrophic events, mass casualty, or disaster scenarios. Orientation includes 24 hours on the unit.

To qualify, you’ll bring at least 2 years of experience and hold current BLS and ACLS. ACLS/BLS are required; ACLS and BLS must remain active. Neuro experience is preferred, and passing EKG testing prior to start is required for this specialty. The unit will consider first-time travelers.

Expect warm, humid conditions with a mix of sunny and rainy days. Evenings can feel mild, and occasional thunderstorms are common.
