Job Description:

Join a MedSurg RN travel team at a critical access hospital in Medford, Wisconsin, delivering dependable bedside nursing in a unit that blends MedSurg and ICU coverage needs (ICU has 3 beds). This 13-week contract runs with a 12-hour nights shift schedule and guaranteed 36 hours per week.

Your work will include routine unit-based care and documentation using Epic, along with the ability to accurately interpret telemetry strips. The unit typically operates with a census around 8–10, with variable staffing across days/evenings/nights (nights often run with a higher nurse-to-patient ratio). Occasionally, you may be asked to float to other departments at the same organization to help out—without taking a full patient assignment—such as completing time-sensitive tasks (for example, vital checks).

This assignment also may include on-call placement during low census hours, with on-call pay and potential call-back if needed (minimum 2 hours). If you’re comfortable combining MedSurg workflow with ICU familiarity and want nights that stay busy and focused, this role is a great fit.
