Job Description:

Join a fast-paced clinical interview services travel contract in Wausau, Wisconsin, supporting an 8-bed intermediate/observation-style unit where patients are typically seen for up to 48 hours. This role is built around 12-hour nights and a steady weekly commitment of 36 hours, with opportunities to gain variety through floating as needed across inpatient units, commonly IMC and CTU.

Your day-to-day work includes managing admissions and discharges while interpreting telemetry and reading/understanding strips, with a mix of presentations such as COPD, dehydration, anemia, cellulitis, and pre/post-op urology and GI cases. You’ll also handle common medication drips including Cardizem, Nitro, Insulin, and Heparin. Expect frequent handoffs and documentation work in EPIC, and be prepared for occasional low-census scheduling where the unit may reduce hours in 4-hour increments (4 or 8 hours of a shift), not treated as on-call time.

This assignment is ideal for a resilient traveler who can manage independent tasks, adapt to shift-to-shift changes, and collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to keep workflows moving smoothly.
