Job Description:

Join a Level II NICU team in Durango, Colorado, for a 13-week travel assignment providing specialized neonatal care during 12-hour night shifts. You will be responsible for managing neonates with diagnoses like TTN, RDS, hyperbilirubinemia, and hypoglycemia, often taking on couplet duties with postpartum mothers and their babies at a patient ratio of 1:2 or 1:3. This role involves using Vents, BiPAP, and HHFNC equipment, with in-house NNPs and telehealth neonatologists available for support. You'll perform bedside assessments, participate in deliveries, and adhere to acuity standards, with an emphasis on teamwork within a NICU that features six beds plus overflow capabilities. The unit maintains a professional dress code, with a focus on high-quality neonatal care and collaboration with nurse aides and charge nurses. Weekend and holiday shifts are required, with rotatable call and standby duties, and floating to other departments as needed. This assignment offers a unique chance to work in a well-supported NICU environment, refining your neonatal nursing skills in a beautiful mountain setting.
