Job Description:

Join our team as a registered nurse on a 13-week Med/Surg contract at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita, Kansas. You'll work 12-hour night shifts from 7 PM to 7 AM, providing care on a 36-bed Medical Trauma unit that handles patients recovering from general surgeries like hernia repairs and colon resections. This assignment offers a chance to work with a well-staffed team of approximately 47 FTEs, including nurses, patient care technicians, and a unit clerk, in a facility that uses Meditech electronic health records. Expect patient ratios of approximately 1 RN to 6-7 patients, when staffing allows. The role involves managing machines such as wound vacs, NG tubes, and chest tubes, with a focus on acute inpatient care. Previous experience with pre- and post-op care, wound management, and central lines is preferred.
