Job Description:

This 13-week travel assignment places you on the cardio thoracic surgical unit, where you will be working the night shift (12 hours, 1900-0730). As an RN, you'll manage a diverse array of patients including those with MI, CHF, A fib, COPD, pacemaker or AICD placements, and lung surgeries such as esophagectomies. Expect to interpret EKGs, titrate medications like Cardizem and heparin, and handle chest tubes and other post-surgical equipment. You will collaborate with a team that includes charge nurses, house supervisors, nurse aides, and telemetry techs, providing vital support during your shift. This role emphasizes proficiency in basic nursing skills, medication management, and the ability to interpret telemetry strips, all while navigating the unique demands of a high-acuity cardiothoracic environment. It’s a chance to hone your skills in a setting that’s both challenging and rewarding, with the added bonus of floating across other medical units as needed.
