Job Description:

Step into a fast-moving Observation/Inpatient role in Wausau, Wisconsin, providing consistent 12-hour night coverage (7:00 p.m.–7:30 a.m.) for a 13-week travel contract. You’ll work an average stay of up to 48 hours while handling a variety of admission and discharge workflows. Expect to float to other inpatient units as needed and be prepared for low-census flexibility, where the contract may offer low-census unbillable hours that can be scheduled in 4-hour increments (sometimes requiring you to work only 4 or 8 hours of the shift). This assignment is centered on night shift flow—staying sharp, adjusting quickly, and keeping momentum from start to finish.

You’ll contribute to care across conditions commonly seen in this unit, including CHF, COPD, cellulitis, dehydration, anemia, and pre-op needs, with exposure to Urology and GI cases. Drip therapies may include Cardizem, Nitro, insulin, and heparin. Background in observation units or step-down/MS/Tele experience is preferred, along with the ability to read and interpret strips. Charting is completed in Epic.

Required: WI RN license, BLS, and ACLS (ARC or AHA). You will also need to complete an EKG exam during compliance.
